Objective

 

I have strong commitment towards fundamental research and teaching. My career objective is to develop innovative strategies to direct my self-guided research using modern experimental and computational techniques towards practical applications.

 

Research inerest

 

  • Electronic structure calculations of halide perovskite solar cells

  • Analytical, physical, and inorganic chemistry (broadly defined)

  • Halogen and other σ-hole interactions

  • Electronic structures of supramolecular chemistry; Macrocycle-based metal-ligand coordination chemistry

  • Molecular and biomolecular pattern recognitions

  • Crystallography.

  • Density functional theory (DFT) study of molecular spin crossover systems

  • Single molecule magnetism

  • Transition metal and lanthanide (and actinide) hybrid complexes of metalla-crowns/-cryptates

  • Electron transport in extended metal chain systems

  • Transition metal catalyzed C–H and N–N bond activation and functionalization, and excited state aromaticity.

  • Computational and experimental studies of delocalized systems, hydrogen bonding and van der Waals complexes

  • Potentially important molecules of laboratory (synthetic) and astronomical interest, and of excited-state molecular systems.

  • High resolution FTIR and Microwave/Millimeter-wave rotational spectroscopy of free radicals, ions, and transition metal complexes.
